When Martin O'Neill lost his job as Nottingham Forest manager, you would have expected a bit of time before a new manager was appointed, but that was not to be the case.

Just 28 minutes after Forest announced O'Neill's departure, the club announced the appointment of Sabri Lamouchi as the new head coach.

The Frenchman has quite a bit of previous managerial experience, having spells at Rennes and Ivory Coast, whilst also having a distinguished playing career. turning out for the likes of Inter Milan, Marseille, Parma and AS Monaco.

So, how will Lamouchi get on in his first season at Forest?

And, where will they finish in the league?

We used Football Manager 2019 to have a bit of fun in predicting the future.

(Football Manager 2019)

Lamouchi's first season at Forest was ultimately a rather disapointing one, as the club finished well off the playoff places in 13th position, four places lower than last season.

Goals scored in 2019/20: 61

Interestingly, Forest scored exactly the same amount of goals in 2019/20 as they did in 2018/19, although you would have hoped for an improvement.

Goals conceded in 2018/19: 54

Goals conceded in 2019/20: 62

But, their downfall was in their defensive record, as they conceded eight more goals across the season than last, which led to a -1 goal difference overall.

Football Manager 2019 suggests that Lamouchi's 2019/20 season as Nottingham Forest manager will be unspectacular, with a mid table finish expected.
