Nottingham Forest reveal plans for Dylan Rich tribute ahead of Cardiff City fixture

Nottingham Forest have revealed plans to pay tribute to the late Dylan Rich ahead of Sunday's meeting with Cardiff City in the Championship.

The West Bridgford Colts player, a Forest fan, collapsed during an FA Youth Cup fixture against Boston United and died at the weekend.

Last Sunday, 6 September, West Bridgford Colts said the teenager had passed away, stating that everyone involved with the club had been left "devastated and heartbroken".

Forest will pay their respects to Rich during this weekend's match with Cardiff at the City Ground by staging a minute's applause in the 17th minute, one minute for each year of his tragically short life.

"We invite all supporters to join us in a minute's applause on the 17th minute in memory of Dylan Rich who sadly passed away playing for West Bridgford Colts," the club said on Twitter.

Condolences poured in for the 17-year-old this past week, including from Aston Villa's Ashley Young, Notts Forest striker David Johnson, Notts County FC, Solihull Moors and many more.

The England football team also paid tribute to Rich ahead of their World Cup qualifier in Poland, as Tottenham striker Harry Kane held up a shirt with the words 'For Dylan' emblazoned across the chest.

The England football team Twitter account posted the picture of Kane holding up the shirt with the message: "Rest in peace, Dylan Rich. Forever in our thoughts.

"Everyone at Nottingham Forest sends their condolences to Dylan’s friends and family following this devastating news," the club said in light of the tragic news.
