Nottingham Forest will remove the Football Index branding from all of their shirts.
The online betting company, which is described as “the world’s first football stock market”, posted a statement on their website on Thursday night saying they had gone into administration.
They have been the Reds’ principal shirt sponsor since 2019, in what was unveiled as “the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the club’s history”.
But that logo will now be removed from Forest’s home and away shirts, starting with their clash at home to Reading.
The Reds will play without a front of shirt sponsor for the rest of the season, with their deal with Football Index set to run out in the summer.
Planning ahead
Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton is anticipating a “busy summer”, as he thanked owner Evangelos Marinakis for the support he has already received.
But the Reds manager expects the effects of the coronavirus pandemic to be felt across football when it comes to the next transfer window.
By then, Forest - like the majority of clubs - will have gone a full season without any matchday revenue from a home crowd.
Their accounts for 2019/20, which were released yesterday, also showed an operating loss of £31.9m.
Transfer talk
Nottingham Forest defender Yuri Ribeiro has been linked with a return to his homeland of Portugal in the summer.
The left-back is said to be weighing up his options as his contract comes to an end, and could head elsewhere when the season finishes.
Ribeiro joined the Reds from Benfica in the summer of 2019. The length of his deal was not disclosed at the time but is believed to be due to run out this year.
Although previously a first-team regular, there was speculation about his future in the summer and he has been in and out of the team under Chris Hughton.

Uncertain future
Winger Sammy Ameobi says he would be keen to extend his time at Nottingham Forest, if given the chance.
But he adds his future beyond the summer currently remains uncertain.
Ameobi is one of several Reds players who will be out of contract come the end of the season, following a one-year extension to his deal last summer.
The 28-year-old says he feels settled at the City Ground, having joined the club as a free agent in 2019.
