Nottingham Forest 'register interest' in Manchester United defender despite talks with Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson

Nottingham Forest are said to have registered their interest in a loan approach for Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe.

The 21-year-old central defender, who has in the past featured at right-back, has become a target for a number of Championship clubs as this summer's window approaches its climax, according to the Daily Mail.

Stoke City and Aston Villa are both said to be keen in singing the youngster after he flourished last term on loan at Villa Park, helping Dean Smith's side to play-off promotion.

But now Sabri Lamouchi's side are reported to have joined the race, despite ongoing talks between the club and Arsenal for the services of full-back Carl Jenkinson.

On Tuesday, NottinghamshireLive reported that Jenkinson had been identified as the club's top right-back target before the transfer window closes at 5pm on Thursday.

However, any move for Tuanzebe could be blocked by United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is said to be keen to keep the youngster as part of his first-team squad for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
