Nottingham Forest receive 'serious' response after double transfer claim

Nottingham Forest supporters have responded to reports claiming the club are 'willing' to let two of their summer transfers depart before Tuesday's deadline.

Both Lewis O'Brien and Harry Toffolo could be on the brink of an exit, with the Daily Mirror claiming Forest are set to listen to offers for both players. The pair arrived at the City Ground last summer in a joint £10million transfer from Huddersfield.

With Forest keen to add to their squad before the end of the month, Steve Cooper needs to trim his squad down following the recent arrivals of Gustavo Scarpa, Danilo and Chris Wood.

Here is how the Reds faithful have responded...

CloughiesGreenShirt: "The ruthless of this is surprising from Cooper but not from Marinakis or Giraldi. It shows one thing, the club are dead serious about establishing themselves in the Premiership. Over the years many club have not quite made it, so ruthless yes, welcome definitely. If Forest think it's needed, that's fine by me."

DevonRed: "Agree loan only. O'Brien in particular is worth keeping. In the three games against us last season for Huddersfield he really stood out, he can beat people, has pace and can put his foot in and a good left foot."

TomasB1972: "Bought when to a certain extent we needed bodies through the door, this isn't really surprising, especially in light of more recent acquisitions which would suggest EM is not content to be a yo-yo team. It seem to me they're building a squad aiming for the top half of the table at bare minimum in the next 3-5 years."

StewyDeano: "Loans only please, at most. Definitely don't sell."

Hertsred: "Would rather only loan them out as back up for IF we get relegated and then our squad gets stripped of better players. Especially O'Brien."

Kingmonkey: "I think Lewis O'Brien could still do a job for us tbh."

Phil14: "Would prefer them to stay as I consider both as good as if not better than what's playing at present. What about Dennis , Cafu, even Worrall after Wednesday's display.....?"

PazLeBon: "O'Brien and Toffolo are most at risk of a departure.. Not Dennis?"

REVD: "I don’t think either of the really ever recovered from the play-off final.."

Ratton Red: "Hope whoever comes in is better and ready to start games."

LondonReds: "I like them both and would have kept them. But if there's no chance of their playing and other players ahead of them... e.g Richards and Lodi and Williams and Danilo, Yates, Scarpa, then time to trim the squad. I thought LOB especially had more versatility. I wish them both well if they leave."
