Nottingham Forest receive major injury boost

Joe Lolley played for Nottingham Forest Under-23s today in a boost for the Reds.

The 28-year-old forward was ruled out of Forest's last Championship match, against Bristol City, having started the opening two league matches of the season against QPR and Cardiff City and played 14 minutes as a sub against Huddersfield Town.

He has struggled with a shin splints problem which hindered him at the end of the last campaign, with boss Sabri Lamouchi admitting he was not "100 percent" following the 2-1 defeat to Bristol City at the City Ground.

But Lolley, who has been a key figure for the Reds during the past two seasons, played for the club's Under-23s against Hull City Under-23s on Tuesday, which will spark hope he could be fit when Forest return to league action against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park after the international break, on Saturday, October 17.
