Nottingham Forest ready to move for Championship club's star striker - report

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Birmingham City talisman Lukas Jutkiewicz.

The Reds are looking to bolster their promotion push in January with The Athletic saying Jutkiewicz is on their shortlist, as well as another player with Birmingham links in Che Adams.

Dwight Gayle and Glenn Murray are other contenders for the Reds as they seek support for top scorer Lewis Grabban with Rafa Mir looking likely to return to Wolves this month.

Jutkiewicz remains a hugely popular figure at St Andrew's having scored eight goals in 26 appearances this season.

In total the 30-year-old has scored 38 goals in 144 league appearances for Blues.

When asked about January signings, Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi joked none had happened yet after the New Year's Day win against Blackburn.

“Until now, we have signed nobody. I am waiting like you,” Lamouchi said.

“On a serious note, of course we need players with quality to help this team, to improve us, to help us stay up there and to help us fight until the end for our goals.

“It is better for us if it happens early, because we have a lot of games in January. We have Chelsea (in the FA Cup on Sunday), Reading twice, Brentford and Luton - a lot of games and a lot of points available.”
