Nottingham Forest player ratings: Costel Pantilimon the hero against QPR

Nottingham Forest secured their first away win in the Championship since November as they beat QPR 1-0 thanks to a goal from Karim Ansarifard.

Here’s how Sarah Clapson rated the Reds players at Loftus Road.

Costel Pantilimon: Made some very good saves to preserve his team’s lead - not least to deny Nahki Wells from the penalty spot. Well-earned second successive clean-sheet. Rating: 8/10

Alexander Milosevic: Strong and commanding. Has settled straight back into the side and looks comfortable as part of a three-man defence. Rating: 7/10

Molla Wague: Played his part in what should be another confidence-boosting shut-out. Made some good clearances and was pretty solid throughout. Rating: 7/10

Jack Robinson: On the receiving end of some boos from the home crowd, but stood up to the task pretty well against his old club. Seemed a little unlucky with the penalty decision, on first viewing. Rating: 7/10

Karim Ansarifard celebrates making it 1-0 at Loftus Road (Dan Westwell)

Sam Byram: Took a little while to get into the game but got more involved as the afternoon went on. Made some good runs down the right flank. Rating: 6/10

Matty Cash: Contributed to a lovely move for the opener. But overall, not sure central midfield is his best position, with a little more composure needed at times. Rating: 6/10

Ryan Yates: Showed his confidence and passion as the youngster never stopped talking and directing his teammates. Got stuck in with some strong tackles. Rating: 6/10

Ben Osborn: A typically busy performance from the Reds man. Had some good touches and also weighed in defensively, tracking back well. Rating: 6/10

Joe Lolley: Played his part in the decisive goal and had plenty of bright moments, even if this wasn’t quite up to the same standards as Monday’s demolition job. Rating: 7/10

Joao Carvalho: Just when you thought he was having a quiet game after Monday’s starring role, the Portuguese pops up with a sweet pass to set up a goal. Always has that in his locker. Rating: 7/10

Forest's Karim Ansarifard celebrates making it 1-0 at QPR (Dan Westwell)

Karim Ansarifard: Tidy finish to claim his second goal for the club. Deserved it too, after being unlucky with a couple of efforts in the first half. Rating: 7/10

Subs: Lewis Grabban (for Ansarifard, 64): Looked lively when he came on and forced a decent save. Rating: 6/10

Bolton Wanderers told they must fulfil final Championship game at Nottingham Forest

Adlene Guedioura (for Carvalho, 82): Didn’t really get chance to make his mark on the game with limited time on the pitch. Rating: 6/10

Claudio Yacob (for Cash, 82): Helped his team see out the victory in the closing minutes. Rating: 6/10

Subs not used: Steele, Watson, Murphy, Appiah.
