Nottingham Forest rallying cry issued after Chelsea 'bonus point'

Nottingham Forest supporters are urging their team on to Premier League safety after a surprise "bonus point" against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Two goals from striker Taiwo Awoniyi earned Steve Cooper's men a point, cancelling out a brace from England winger Raheem Sterling. The point leaves Forest 16th in the Premier League table, three points above the relegation zone.

With Everton hosting Manchester City on Sunday, and Leicester facing Liverpool the following night, it could prove to be a massive weekend for Forest and their mission to ensure Premier League safety. Below is a look at what supporters are saying on Twitter.

@PaulMancs : That’s a bonus point none of us expected.

@wolfisin : How precious will this one point be?

@Rotary_Pilot : Huge point, delighted. Could have so easily been 3! You Reds!!

@Helmkay6 : Big big point that. 2 games to go, hopefully Leicester/Everton lose tomorrow and Monday. Give em everything next week. COME ON

@Gittinsssssssss : Great fighting point. Time to finish the job at the CG next week.

@Camclarky : If anyone had told me that when we got promotion that we had taken 2 points from 2 games vs Chelsea, I’d call them mad

@Marmadelica : Will absolutely take that point. Some solid performances today too, Worrall, Yates and MGW battled all afternoon. Well played Forest

@metz1969 : Still in the driving seat to avoid the drop. An important point which anyone would have taken before KO. Everton and Leicester with tough games to play this weekend. Keep going
