Nottingham Forest quartet straight back to Under-23s action after Chelsea exposure

Four Nottingham Forest players who were involved at Chelsea were straight back into Under-23s action this afternoon.

The Reds were 2-1 winners against Burnley with Tyrese Fornah and Yassine En-Neyah, who both came off the bench at Stamford Bridge, starting the game.

Jordan Gabriel and Liam Sole were both unused substitutes in the FA Cup third round tie. They also started at a near empty City Ground on Tuesday.

Forest took the lead when Sole was brought down in the box and Kieran Hayes scored the resulting penalty in the 41st minute.

Hayes had a hand in the second goal as he released En-Neyah, who did tremendously well to set up Keith Asare for the final touch after 63 minutes.

Burnley got one back from the penalty spot with 19 minutes to go when Asare fouled his man but the hosts held on.

The win took Forest back to the top of the Professional Development League.

Forest: Siampanis, Gabriel, Gallagher, Fornah, Stewart, Barnes, Sole, Edser (c), Hayes. En-Neyah, Asare; Subs: Statham, Rama, Hammond, Walsh, Swan
