Nottingham Forest prospect Kieran Hayes attracting interest from Port Vale

Nottingham Forest forward Kieran Hayes is attracting interest from League Two side Port Vale.

The under-23s striker, who spent time on loan at Truro last season,  is understood to have linked up with the Valiants for training this week.

And they could turn to Hayes to bolster their attack for the forthcoming season as they chase promotion to League One.

Vale finished just outside the top seven when the season halted due to the coronavirus pandemic having had an excellent campaign under boss John Askey.

Vale have decent links with Forest after Jake Taylor's immensely successful loan spell  last season.

The midfielder scored seven goals in 25 appearances for the League Two side and Vale would be keen on taking him back next season.

But Taylor's agent Phil Sproson said last month that the Reds are set to take a closer look at him this summer.

He said: “There have been a couple of enquiries to me but that is as far as it has got.

“The only thing I have been told from Forest is that Jake, along with Jordan Gabriel, will come into the main group and they will probably be involved in pre-season. They will make a judgment on them from there."
