Nottingham Forest promotion odds drift following Martin O'Neill sacking

Nottingham Forest are backed at 8/1 to be promoted from the Championship this season following the sacking of Martin O'Neill and subsequent appointment of Sabri Lamouchi.

The Reds sacked O'Neill on Friday morning and appointed Lamouchi minutes later ahead of today's pre-season friendly against Alfreton Town, where the Reds kick-off their summer preparations.

Now League sponsor SkyBet have installed the Reds as 8/1 shots, down from 5/1 a little over two weeks ago.

Leeds United are 7/4 favourites to be promoted to the Premier League, Fulham second favourites at 9/4 and West Bromwich Albion the next fancied at 3/1.

Recently relegated Cardiff City (7/2), Middlesbrough and Stoke City (both 4/1) make up the favourites to be promoted.

Huddersfield Town, Brentford, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea City and Bristol City are all more fancied than Forest, with Birmingham City also 8/1 shots to achieve promotion.
