Nottingham Forest predicted to do this for the first time in 2020 against Preston

David Prutton is backing old side Nottingham Forest to score two away from home and win for the first time this year when they head to Preston North End tomorrow (3pm).

The former Forest midfielder-turned-pundit thinks Sabri Lamouchi's side will triumph 2-1 at the home of their fellow play-off chasers as they look to sew up their top six spot.

Indeed, it would be quite the achievement given the Reds haven't scored twice on the road and won a game since Boxing Day.

Lewis Grabban was on the scoresheet twice for Forest that day but they have only bagged two away from home in two matches since, both draws at West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough.

Lamouchi's side have registered two away wins this calendar year, 1-0 successes at Brentford and Cardiff City.

Forest could put some distance between themselves and Preston in eighth if they win at Deepdale and move up to 71 points.

Around 74 or 75 has historically been enough to secure a play-off place in recent seasons and with Swansea City in seventh place on 63 points, they could all-but seal a place in the lottery.

In beating Preston, Forest would give their away form a timely boost given they haven't won on the road in four games suffering late heartbreak in their last two games against Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.
