Nottingham Forest players have special message for fans after beating Huddersfield

Nottingham Forest came away with their first three points of the season following a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium.

Interim boss Steven Reid was in charge of the team for the first time since the sacking of Chris Hughton on Thursday.

Lewis Grabban scored on his 100th start for Forest before Terriers' goalkeeper, Lee Nicholls, conceded an own goal to seal the welcome win.

Reds fans had been waiting five months since their side's last victory, a 3-1 defeat of QPR on April 5.

And Forest players were quick to take to social media to hail the achievement.

Djed Spence said: "Hard graft from the boys today & a well deserved 3 points. Let's build on this performance & go again Saturday."

Joe Lolley: "Massive 3 points, for all the fans who've stuck with us after a difficult start."

Alex Mighten: "Fans were excellent."

Ryan Yates: "Massive 3 points today. Top away following. More to come!"

James Garner: "Fans were top today. +3 we keep going."

Forest may have got their season up and running, and their focus will now turn to Millwall at home on Saturday, September 25 (3pm), as they bid to keep their momentum going.
