In their first game back at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest paid a touching tribute a long-serving staff member who lost his battle with coronavirus.
Kevin Rowson, also known as Bamma, had been part of the club’s matchday security team for the past decade.
He died in April, while the football season was suspended due to the pandemic.
The Championship returned earlier this month, and in their first home fixture since the restart, the Reds made sure to remember a man who had been an integral part of matchdays on the banks of the Trent.
His security jacket was draped over one of the seats in the stands, as Forest secured a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town.
Posting a picture of their tribute on Twitter, the club said afterwards: “You’ll always be with us, Kev. The jacket of Kevin Rowson was left on a seat at today’s game in tribute to the matchday security member who sadly lost his battle with coronavirus.”
Forest previously let off four balloons from the side of the pitch in his memory, as well as in tribute to Reds fans who passed away during the coronavirus crisis.
Sabri Lamouchi's side claimed three points in the behind closed doors game courtesy of a Lewis Grabban brace and a goal from Ryan Yates.
