Nottingham Forest part ways with Daryl Murphy to allow striker to join Bolton Wanderers

Republic of Ireland international Daryl Murphy has left Nottingham Forest by mutual consent, allowing the striker to put pen to paper on a deal with Bolton Wanderers, subject to clearance.

He became the second Reds player to make the switch to the University of Bolton Stadium on deadline day, following defender Liam Bridcutt to Greater Manchester, with Wanderers working hard to assemble a squad fit to compete in League One.

36-year-old Murphy, who counts Luton, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Celtic, Ipswich and Newcastle amongst his former clubs, scored 13 goals for the Reds after joining the club in 2017.

Earlier today, young striker Arvin Appiah completed a high profile move to Spanish side UD Almeria which kick-started a busy day of business.

That was before out-of-favour duo Bridcutt and joined Bolton, on loan, and Shrewsbury Town repsectively.

Murphy is expected to be the last player through the exit door today.
