Cardiff City are expected to welcome former Nottingham Forest loanee Lee Tomlin back to training ahead of Sunday's meeting at the City Ground.
The 32-year-old forward has not featured in the league or the cup for Cardiff so far this season after picking up an untimely injury in their final pre-season friendly against Newport County.
He also missed much of last season due to a groin injury, meaning he has yet to actually feature under manager Mick McCarthy since his appointment earlier this year.
Under previous boss Neil Harris, Tomlin featured in the first four matches last term, scoring in the defeat to Reading, but, after picking up two yellow cards in a draw with Blackburn Rovers, he has only featured once more as injuries struck.
Tomlin spent the second half of the 2017/18 season on loan in the East Midlands from his current employers in a deal that saw fellow former Red Jamie Ward move in the opposite direction for the same period of time.
He featured in all but two of the remaining games that campaign under Aitor Karanka, one of which he was ineligible for against his parent club, scoring four times and registering three assists.
McCarthy is also set for a further attacking boost as star striker Kiefer Moore is expected to be back fit and available for selection despite currently self-isolating.
The striker was identified as a close contact of Stoke City goalkeeper Adam Davies, who tested positive for Covid-19 during international duty with Wales, meaning he has been in isolation since last Tuesday and will remain there for a further three days.
This weekend's fixture being moved back to Sunday afternoon for live television coverage on Sky Sports is likely to work in the 29-year-old's favour.
