Nottingham Forest old boy completes Olympiacos return and sends Evangelos Marinakis message

Former Nottingham Forest loanee Pajtim Kasami has returned to Olympiacos on a free transfer five years on from departing the perennial Greek champions.

The 12-time Switzerland international had been a free agent since leaving Basel in his homeland at the end of his contract during the summer. Kasami had spent the last five years back in the Swiss Super League since spending the 2016/17 season on loan at the City Ground from the fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned club.

Under Philippe Montanier, the former Fulham man was a regular in the side, making all but two of his 27 appearances for the Reds prior to the Frenchman being sacked in mid-January. After only scoring once - an opener against Leeds United in late August - and assisting just two more goals, Kasami fell out of favour in the interim under Gary Brazil and did not feature at all under Mark Warburton.

Kasami made 66 appearances during his first stint in Piraeus, scoring nine goals and assisting just as many, and is now set to add to those tallies throughout this season at least. After Olympiacos confirmed the transfer, the player himself took to social media to thank Evangelos Marinakis for trusting in him again.

"Finally we made it! No words can describe my feelings right now! I am so glad to sign again for this legendary club! Thanks for the trust Mr President," Kasami tweeted before tagging Evangelos and his son Militadis as well as the club themselves in his message.

What are your memories of Kasami in a Forest shirt? Have your say in the comments...
