Nottingham Forest news: Ref watch as Robert Jones prepares for a busy 24 hours

It will be a busy 24 hours for Robert Jones as he prepares to officiate in two Championship games this weekend.

Starting off as the fourth official at Pride Park this evening – where Derby County take on promotion contenders Fulham in front of the Sky Sports cameras – he will then be the man in the middle for Nottingham Forest’s clash against QPR.

Mr Jones will be assisted by Ian Cooper and Philip Dermott for that one, while Rob Smith is set to serve as fourth official.

Taking charge of 24 games in all competitions so far this season, he has dished out 76 yellow cards – but he has yet to brandish a red!

A regular in the Championship, Mr Jones oversaw Forest’s narrow defeat at home to Cardiff City in November, plus the 1-1 draw at Leeds United right at the beginning of the season.

In the run up to Christmas, the Merseyside official was appointed to his first ever Premier League game. It came at the Amex, where Brighton & Hove Albion were beaten 1-0 at home by this season’s surprise package Sheffield United.

Mr Jones booked Forest duo Jack Robinson and Samba Sow against Leeds, while the Reds went unpunished on his watch in a losing cause against the Bluebirds.
