Nottingham Forest 'need to add another striker' - and the answer might be right under their nose

Nottingham Forest need to add another striker in the summer - maybe even two. We need someone who can chip in with some goals.

And the answer might be right under Martin O’Neill’s nose.

Tyler Walker has got 26 goals so far for Mansfield Town, on loan from us, this season - and he might yet grab a few more in the League Two play-offs.

He could be worth having a proper look at for next season.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if, when he comes back in the summer, Martin decides to have a look at him in a couple of games, maybe in pre-season, to see what he makes of him.

I’d definitely at least have him on the bench for a few matches, to see if he could be an option for us.

He’s scored that many goals, it’s got to be worth giving him a go.

Allright, he’s been doing it in a lower division - and there’s a big difference between the bottom tier and the Championship - but scoring goals is the hardest thing to do in football at any level. That’s what he’s been doing.

He’s obviously got that knack, that goalscorer’s instinct, and his confidence will be sky-high, especially if he helps Mansfield get promoted.

He will have learnt a lot from this season; a lot more than he would have done just fighting for a place on the bench at Forest or playing for the Under-23s.

He’s had a proper run of games, which will have helped and he seems to have filled out a bit; he looks stronger than he has in the past.

When you go down the leagues it’s a bit more physical, so he’ll have learned how to stand his ground.

He’ll have enjoyed this season, playing in a team which has done well.

Mansfield will be a bit disappointed not to have gone up automatically, but I do still think they will go on and get promoted through the play-offs - and good luck to them, they deserve it.
