Nottingham Forest must not have regrets next season after series of wasted chances

The fixture list is out and Nottingham Forest will start against West Brom next season.

After that it's Leeds, Birmingham, Fulham and Charlton.

You can speculate on how hard those games are, but the truth is, every game will be tough. Too often we missed out on points here and there.

We lost games we should have drawn last season and drew games we should have won. It wasn't always Forest's fault.

You can look back on Leeds and West Brom away, when they were cheated out of wins by Kemar Roofe and Dwight Gayle respectively.

There was also Norwich away when it finished 3-3. How Forest didn't win that game is beyond me. That was certainly their fault.

Forest finished eight points off the play-offs and that sounds a lot, but in individual games it was fine margins.

They have to make the most of every game if promotion is the aim and last season that did not happen.

There's going to be plenty of teams who feel they can go up. You've got to respect Cardiff, Fulham and Huddersfield.

They have some Premier League quality players after being relegated last season.

If they keep hold of them they'll be the ones to beat next term.
