Nottingham Forest might not like what Neil Warnock has said about promotion race

Nottingham Forest are right up there, challenging at the top of the Championship table, with Lewis Grabban in fine form in front of goal.

But they seemingly haven’t done enough to impress former Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock.

The 71-year-old has been having his say on the promotion race and who he thinks has stood out in the second tier, as the battle for the Premier League hots up.

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi has led the Reds to fourth in the table ahead of this weekend’s trip to Reading.

Having bounced back from a five-match winless run with a hat-trick of league victories, they are level on points with Brentford, while Grabban is fourth in the top scorer charts with 14 goals.

Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion lead the way in the standings, nine points clear of Forest and the Bees.

Fulham are a point further back, with Swansea City a point behind them to make up the current top six.

“I think Fulham have got the best squad,” Warnock said on talkSport.

“In the whole league, I think they’ve got the best squad.

“I think Brentford have got the best strikers.

“West Brom and Leeds are both up there, but in a good season I don’t think they would be top of the league.

“They’ve just been consistent - that’s why they are up there.”
