Nottingham Forest midfielder Liam Bridcutt has been linked with a transfer deadline day move to Lincoln City.
The 30-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, before returning to the City Ground this month.
The Trotters were keen on bringing him back to the University of Bolton Stadium, after he made 12 appearances for the club.
But The Sun claim the Imps are now trying to make a late push, before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Bolton boss Keith Hill had said: “There are a certain amount of restrictions, and we got it done last time with Liam, but we know it might go down to the last minute this time.
“He is always welcome back here.”
And the Bolton News report the club "have spent a lot of their day trying to get that done".
Bridcutt joined the Reds in the summer of 2017, but his last appearance in the Garibaldi came in the October of the following year.
He is one of a few out-of-favour or fringe players who could still leave Trentside before the January window closes.
