Nottingham Forest midfielder Brennan Johnson wanted by Lincoln City

Lincoln City are reportedly looking to clinch a loan deal for Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson.

The Reds think highly of the Welsh attacking midfielder who made eight first-team appearances for the club last season.

Imps boss Michael Appleton is said to be an admirer of the teenager and is looking to build on what has been an impressive start to the season at Sincil Bank with Lincoln undefeated in League One.

Paul Taylor of the Athletic said: "Understand Lincoln City are keen to take Brennan Johnson on loan.

"The Welsh international attacking midfielder, 19, is highly regarded at #NFFC and has been on bench recently.

"But a move to League One would offer the chance of regular football. Move could happen quickly."

Brennan has not featured for Forest so far this season, but the club is stacked with midfielders courtesy of a hectic transfer window.

And Forest may feel a loan for the Welshman may be best for his development in order to give him regular minutes.

Should he make the move, he would link-up with ex-Reds midfielder Jorge Grant.
