Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura's bit of skill is going down a storm on social media

Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura is said to be impressing for Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 33-year-old helped his country progress to the quarter-finals of the competition on Sunday - and a clip of a delightful piece of skill from the Reds man has been going down a storm on social media.

Guinea were seen off 3-0 in the last-16 clash, as goals from Youcef Belaili, Manchester City ace Riyad Mahrez and Adam Ounas saw Algeria through.

Guedioura started the match in Cairo for his fourth appearance of the tournament, and was substituted in the 82nd minute when the result was all-but tied up.

A short video clip of him leaving a Guinea player ending up on his backside with a lovely bit of footwork has been attracting plenty of attention on Twitter, collecting hundreds of likes and retweets.

And one Algeria fan wrote: “Dear #nffc fans, Guedioura is having himself quite the #AFCON2019”

This was a fourth clean-sheet in as many matches for Algeria, having also beaten Kenya (2-0), Senegal (1-0) and Tanzania (3-0).

Guedioura started all but the last of those ties, and will hope to feature again when the team take on either Mali or Ivory Coast in the last eight on Thursday.

Being on international duty means he is missing the start of Forest’s pre-season, with the club having also changed manager while he has been away – sacking Martin O’Neill and bringing in Sabri Lamouchi.
