Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura pictured in Doha 'in preparation' for completing move

Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura has been pictured in Doha “in preparation for joining” Qatari club Al Gharafa.

Prior to the start of the new Championship season, Guedioura had asked the Reds to consider allowing him to leave the City Ground this summer.

And Al Gharafa have tweeted a picture of the Algeria international in Doha, saying: “Now: the arrival of the Algerian international Adlene Guedioura to Doha, to pass the medical examination in preparation for joining the club. He was received by Hussein Al-Yahri, manager of the first football team.”

Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi revealed last month that Guedioura had asked the club to think about allowing him to take up one of the offers he had on the table, following an impressive Africa Cup of Nations tournament in which he helped his country to victory.

“Adlene has spoken with me. I was waiting for him to return,” said Lamouchi. “But he has asked me to think about new offers he has from a different country.”

“If he can find a better contract, we have to be patient over the finite decision between the clubs,” the Frenchman added.

Guedioura, who has not featured in any of the Reds’ opening three games of the campaign, returned for his third spell at the City Ground in January 2018, when he penned a two-and-a-half year deal.
