Jordan Smith declared himself "delighted" after signing a new contract with Nottingham Forest.
The goalkeeper's previous deal had come to an end in the summer, after he had agreed a short-term extension to complete the 2019-20 season following the coronavirus shutdown.
But he has now pledged his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on a new two-year contract running until the summer of 2022.
Smith has been at the club since the age of seven and, now 25, he has made 51 senior appearances in a Forest shirt.
He revealed that manager Sabri Lamouchi was a key factor in his decision to stay on.
“I’m delighted," Smith told the Forest website. "It’s a club I have been at since I was seven-years-old, so to walk away from this place would be very difficult.
“It is a very exciting time at the club. The manager, the ownership group and everyone around the place has made it evidently clear that they wanted me to stay.
“Sabri has been a huge reason why I am delighted to sign this new contact.
"He is very open and honest and you know what you are going to get.
"He made it clear that he wanted me to be part of this process, wherever it may lead and when a manager does that it is very difficult to turn away from.”
Last term, Smith provided back-up to first-choice keeper Brice Samba, making three appearances in all competitions, including the final-day 4-1 home defeat to Stoke City which denied Forest a Championship play-off place.
