Nottingham Forest man hits out at VAR as Ryan Yates thanks fans for support

'Atrocious' 

Nottingham Forest midfielder Joe Lolley has taken to social media to have his say on the Premier League's video assistant referee, describing the way that it is currently being used as 'atrocious'.

The 27-year-old, who had an unexpected break from the football field after Forest's game with Reading was postponed, finally had a chance to put his feet up and watch the action on the television this weekend.

And yet again it was a weekend where VAR was brought into question after a number of controversial decisions including a late Arsenal winner against Crystal Palace that was chalked off by the video assistant.

Reading boss had this to say about Nottingham Forest

Reading boss Mark Bowen was "gutted" to see Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Nottingham Forest postponed.

Heavy rain  left the City Ground pitch "unplayable" , according to match referee Geoff Eltringham.

That left the recently-appointed Bowen frustrated not to have a game following a 1-0 win over Preston North End and a 2-2 draw at Queens Park Rangers.

"We're gutted the match had to be called off," he told Berkshire Live. "We were feeling confident going into the game we could get a result.

Ryan Yates' message for Forest fans

Midfielder Ryan Yates has thanked  Nottingham Forest  fans for the reception he received on his comeback from injury.

The 21-year-old  made his first appearance of the season  on Wednesday night, when he came off the bench for the final half hour in the 2-1 defeat to Hull City.

A long-standing knee problem had flared up again when Yates reported back for pre-season training, and he underwent surgery in the summer.
