Nottingham Forest are reportedly stepping up their efforts for a striker.

According to The Sun, Sabri Lamouchi's side are making a 'strong move' for Brighton and Hove Albion forward Glenn Murray.

It is said the 36-year-old will be allowed to leave the Seagulls this month, with Premier League duo Newcastle United and Aston Villa both rumoured to be showing an interest .

Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi wants to sign a striker to ease the burden on star forward Lewis Grabban, who is leading the line for the promotion chasers.

Forest are currently in fourth place in the second tier, nine points behind Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion who make up the top two with both on 52.

The Reds have also been linked with moves for strikers Billy Sharp, Eddie Nketiah and Dwight Gayle .

Murray, meanwhile, has struggled for a game in the Premier League this season but has a fine record a League below.

He's netted an impressive 64 goals in 143 games at Forest's level.
