Nottingham Forest make significant off-field appointment

Nottingham Forest have made a change to the club’s board, with director of football Kyriakos Dourekas being made a director.

The Reds announced the news in a statement. It read: “Nottingham Forest are pleased to confirm director of football Kyriakos Dourekas has been added to the club’s board of directors.

“Dourekas joined Forest as the club’s director of football in 2018 following 25 years at Greek giants Olympiacos, 11 years of which were as director of football with the Greek Super League champions. Dourekas’ role with the Reds has helped oversee improvements throughout the first team, academy, recruitment and training facilities over recent seasons.”

The Greek makes up a five-man board at the City Ground. The board is made up of chairman Nicholas Randall QC, CEO Dane Murphy and fellow directors Ioannis Vrentzos and Jonny Owen.

The appointment of Dourekas as director has also been listed on Companies House. A confirmation document is set to be made available in the coming days.

It comes as Forest are fighting for promotion to the Premier League under Steve Cooper. With 10 games to play, the Reds are currently in ninth spot, three points below the play-off places ahead of their return to action after the international break.
