Nottingham Forest could be set for a busy transfer window as Chris Hughton looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
The Reds had a disappointing campaign in 2020/21, as they spent the majority of the season fighting against the Championship drop zone.
The team will look to make it a different story in the upcoming season as they aim to be fighting at the other end of the table.
Forest have already been linked with a number of players throughout the summer window.
Hughton is “targeting a number of new signings” according to the Telegraph journalist John Percy.
Writing on Twitter, he says that “Watford winger Philip Zinckernagel could be one of the first, on loan for the season.”
The 26-year-old helped the Hornets secure promotion back to the Premier League in the season just gone, scoring one goal and providing a further five assists in 20 Championship appearances.
Percy also says that “Forest have also made a second bid for Fortuna Sittard midfielder Zian Flemming.”
Forest are said to have to pay around £1.5m to sign the player this summer, after the midfielder’s impressive season for Fortuna Sittard in Eredivisie last season.
Chris Hughton has already made it clear that he wishes to fix Forest’s lack of goals in the transfer window and have targeted Flemming as one of the potential solutions.
Flemming only joined Fortuna from PEC Zwolle last summer for a relatively low transfer fee and is contracted until the summer of 2024.
But his outstanding form as one of the most important players at Fortuna last season has caught the attention of Forest.
