Nottingham Forest 'make offer' for midfielder eyed by Liverpool and Arsenal

Nottingham Forest have reportedly made an offer to PSV Eindhoven for their midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

The 25-year-old was the subject of interest from Forest last summer, but instead signed a new five-year contract with the Dutch club. However, the Reds appear to have now reignited their interest with a bid for the 25-year-old, who could become the first signing of the transfer window.

Forest face PSV in a pre-season friendly on July 30 but by all accounts the Reds may well be hoping Sangare is their player before that date comes around. For now, though, the ball looks to be in PSV's court.

According to The Athletic, Forest have made their offer for Sangare, who they say has a price tag on his shoulders upwards of £30million. Sangare has previously been linked to Chelsea and Liverpool, among others but Forest are apparently the first to make their move this summer.

Sangare made 29 appearances for PSV in the Eredivisie last season, scoring five goals and assisting another from midfield. He was a key player as they won the KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield, while finishing second in their league.

The report also names Anton Stach, Amadou Onana and Cheick Doucoure as previous targets for Forest, but they all made moves elsewhere while the Reds looked to reinforce their central midfield.
