Nottingham Forest 'make contact' about potential move for former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder John Bostock

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder John Bostock.

But they are not the only Championship side reportedly interested in the 27-year-old, who is said to be open to leaving French outfit Toulouse and returning to England.

Brentford and Reading are also keen on Bostock, according to The Sun on Sunday, though it is claimed the Reds have made initial contact with the player’s Ligue 1 team about a potential switch to the City Ground.

Bostock made 17 appearances for his club last season, with one of those coming against Rennes, who were managed by Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi at the time.

He made the move to Toulouse last summer, putting pen to paper on a three-year contract, but has struggled to settle throughout his career.

Bostock started out at Crystal Palace before making the move to White Hart Lane in 2008, however, he did not make a single first-team appearance in the league for Spurs.

He had loan spells at Brentford, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town and Toronto FC, then went on to sign for Royal Antwerp in Belgium, in 2013.

He also counts OH Leuven, Lens and Bursaspor among his old teams.

Forest have made six signings so far this summer, but Lamouchi has said he would like to strengthen further - in all areas across the pitch.

“Honestly we need players in every line. If you want to achieve our target, we need to be not just comfortable, but to have enough players to achieve what we want,” he said.

“Honestly yes, I would like to see more players come in. We need to refresh the group; to have more experience.”
