Nottingham Forest lose appeal to sign West Bromwich Albion winger Kamil Grosicki

Nottingham Forest have lost their appeal to complete the signing of West Bromwich Albion winger Kamil Grosicki, according to reports.

A deal was agreed between the clubs for Forest to sign the winger on a loan deal on deadline day.

But there has been a dispute over if the relevant paperwork had been submitted on time, leaving the player in limbo as Forest attempted to push through the deal.

Forest attended an arbitration hearing this week in order to plead their case and confirm Grosicki as their player.

It was reported that a decision would be reached on Thursday morning, and it seems that that is the case. Nottinghamshire Live understands that Forest have lost their appeal.

It means that the player will now turn to West Bromwich Albion and will be included in their Premier League squad up until at least January.

Speaking last week, West Brom boss Slaven Bilic has no problem with integrating him back into the Baggies first-team fold.

“We’ve kept the space, but the reason we needed Kamil to go was because we needed the funds. We needed to offload somebody to get the players in - that was the reason,” he said.

“As a manager, he’s a quality player. He’s a proven player.”

Grosicki is yet to make a Premier League appearance for West Brom this season but could be included in the squad for their Premier League encounter with Fulham on Monday evening.

The Poland international has been linked with a move to Forest for some time, with reports suggesting that the paperwork for the 32-year-old was submitted just 21 seconds after the deadline on October 16.

Should Forest wish to complete a deal for the winger, they will now have to wait until the January transfer window.
