Midfielder Filip Krovinovic could be set for a return to Nottingham Forest next season, according to reports in Portugal.
The 25-year-old made the move to the City Ground in January on loan from Benfica, having spent the first half of the campaign at West Bromwich Albion.
He was a regular starter for the Reds, with all of his 19 appearances coming in the first XI, and he found the back of the net against Brentford for his only goal in the Garibaldi.
Portuguese newspapers A Bola and Record both suggest he doesn’t have a future with parent club Benfica, who would be keen to move him on.
Sport Witness, citing the printed version of the two outlets, say it is claimed there is a “good chance” of him returning to England during the summer transfer window, although there is a suggestion it could be on loan rather than a permanent move.
A Bola previously reported: “He moved to Nottingham Forest and (there are) talks about the possibility of being traded at the end of the season, but for less than 10m euros.”
Krovinovic was generally used through the middle of an attacking three, behind a lone striker, for Forest. However, boss Chris Hughton also tried him in a wide role towards the end of the campaign.
A Bola and Record also claim the Croatian midfielder’s Benfica teammate, and former Red, Alfa Semedo could return to Reading this summer after a loan spell with the Royals.
