Nottingham Forest linked with Senegal international midfielder

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Bordeaux midfielder Younousse Sankhare.

According to website France Football, the Senegalese international does not have a future at the Ligue One side and has options abroad.

Fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned side Olympiakos have been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old as well as Forest.

Sankhare is under contract for another two years at the Matmut Atlantique.

A central midfielder, Sankhare scored four times in all competitions, setting up another five for his team-mates.

He has 373 career appearances under his belt, including UEFA Super Cup and Europa League outings and seven caps for Senegal - the last of those coming in 2017.

Forest have already signed Sammy Ameobi from Bolton Wanderers , before Martin O'Neill departed the club.

Sabri Lamouchi has brought in three players since his arrival last month, Alfa Semedo and Yuri Ribeiro joining from Benfica on Monday, adding to Tiago Silva's arrival last week from Feirense.
