Fans’ favourite Andy Reid has returned to Nottingham Forest to take up a role with the club’s Under-23s.

The former midfielder will link up with ex-Reds teammate Chris Cohen as part of the coaching staff at the Nigel Doughty Academy, being appointed academy technical coach.

Cohen will now step up to the role of head coach for the Under-23s, with Jimmy Gilligan having left for a new job with the Football Association.

Bolton Wanderers manager Keith Hill says he would liked to re-sign  Nottingham Forest  defender Liam Bridcutt - but admits that the move is the final decision sits with the player himself.

Bridcutt has now returned from his loan spell at  the University of Bolton stadium  after sustaining a hamstring injury during this loan spell with the League One club.

The 30-year-old, shipped out by  Sabri Lamouchi  during the summer, has made 11 league appearances for the Whites who look set to be heading for relegation to the fourth tier following a pre-season points deduction.

Coventry make decision for Forest 'target'

Coventry City boss Mark Robins will try to tie midfielder  Zain Westbrooke  down to a long-term deal with the Sky Blues amid reported interest from Nottingham Forest.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who started out in Chelsea's academy, joined Coventry on a free transfer from Brentford in May 2018.

Westbrooke has started 19 matches for Robins' side in League One so far this season, scoring four goals to help them up to third place in the table -  and TEAMtalk say the Sky Blues have put a price-tag of at least £2m on him .
