Nottingham Forest 'lining up a deal' for French midfielder

Nottingham Forest are "lining up a deal" for French midfielder Ilyas El Khabchi.

The 21-year-old is said to have been close to joining the Reds earlier this season, following a trial at the City Ground, before suffering an injury and returning to France for his rehabilitation.

And TEAMTalk say a deal could be resurrected during the January transfer window if he proves his fitness to head coach Sabri Lamouchi.

"He has returned to the club and is again training with their Under-23 side," claim TEAMTalk.

"Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi was impressed with El Khabchi during the first stint and if he proves his fitness he is set to sign a permanent deal this month."

The Reds are said to have been alerted to El Khabchi when he was playing for Jura Dolois in the fifth tier of the French league.
