Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce reveals club 'put a block' on return

Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce has revealed West Ham's owners "put a block" on him returning to the Premier League club with David Moyes.

Moyes is back with the Hammers for a second spell in charge, just 19 months after he was replaced by Manuel Pellegrini at the London Stadium.

Pearce was one of Moyes' assistants during his first spell in charge of West Ham, but he will not be joining his management team this time, revealing the club's owners David Sullivan and David Gold stopped it happening.

"No, it won't happen," Pearce told talkSPORT.

"I think the owners felt I was a little bit critical of the regime when we left last time and put a block on it."

"They make decisions, they own the club and I respect that," he added.

"I'm just delighted to see Dave back in work in the Premier League."
