Nottingham Forest legend's advice for Joe Worrall after Arsenal rumour

It's that time of year when transfer rumours get more frequent and that's been the case with Nottingham Forest in the last week.

On Tuesday afternoon Joe Worrall was linked with Arsenal, while Matty Cash is said to be a target of Everton.

If I could give them one piece of advice it would be to ignore any rumours about their future and just get their heads down.

That's what has brought them so much success this season so they should carry on just as they have been.

If you start getting above yourself then that's where you come undone.

Neither player strikes me as someone who will lose their way.

Worrall know what it is like to be at a low ebb. It's not too long ago that he could not get in the Forest team and he was shipped out on loan the Rangers.

That is an experience that will have served him really well. Playing at a massive club like Rangers can only toughen you up.

He strikes me as a leader in the dressing room despite being 22 and we know how much he loves the club as a boyhood Forest fan.

Cash seems like another level headed lad. He was asked to learn a new position and he's excelled at right-back.

I know how hard it is to play in multiple positions having finished my career as a central defender.

I also had one game playing as a full-back and it was a nightmare. Brian Clough asked me to play left-back once when Stuart Pearce and I thought it can't be that hard.

It's fair to say Danny Wallace gave me nightmares and it was a relief when my number came up.

With that in mind, Cash deserves nothing but credit for his form.
