Nottingham Forest legend Peter Shilton has backed Wayne Rooney to avoid relegation with East Midlands rival Derby County.
It would be a huge task for Rooney to achieve such a feat, with the Rams rock bottom of the Championship table.
They currently sit on just 11 points and are a further 11 points adrift of safety.
Despite that, they are unbeaten in their last four matches, having picked up three wins and a draw.
They include victories over Midlands rivals West Brom and Stoke City.
Former Forest stopper Shilton believes he has seen enough for Rooney to mark him out as a "top manager" and believes it would be "great for the East Midlands" if the Rams were to pull off the impossible and beat the drop.
"What a great job Wayne Rooney is doing at Derby County," Shilton tweeted.
"Proving he has what it takes to be a top manager!
"Anything can happen in football; it would be great for him (and the East Midlands) to keep them in the Championship!"
