Nottingham Forest left Peterborough United in dark over cancelled friendly says Posh chairman

Peterbrough Untied chairman Darragh MacAnthony says Nottingham Forest left his side in the dark before cancelling Saturday's pre-season friendly.

Sabri Lamouchi's Reds were scheduled to meet the Posh this week at the Pinatar Arena but have since cancelled the match, cutting their Spanish schedule short early.

The club confirmed that they will remain in Murcia until Saturday to meet supporters who travelled.

MacAntony, who has been involved in a number of spats with the Reds under previous ownership, took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the news.

"I've Just received the news Nottingham Forest have cancelled our game for Saturday evening in La Manga," he said.

"Apologies for this last minute nonsense. We are trying to find an alternative and will have a game hopefully sorted with news on it tomorrow."

He added: "Shame he [Lamouchi] couldn’t let us know a few days ago.

"We’ve been asking for days and were told up until today that all is okay. Then late today: 'Sorry, it’s off". That’s wrong."
