Nottingham Forest learn this important Glenn Murray transfer update - reports

Glenn Murray is likely to leave Brighton and Hove Albion this month after watching their latest Premier League clash from the bench, according to reports.

Nottingham Forest have been keen on signing the 36-year-old striker as part of Sabri Lamouchi’s search for attacking reinforcements.

Lewis Grabban is the only recognised centre-forward in the squad as things stand and securing another option is key for Forest in their quest for Championship promotion.

Murray, who was identified as a target ahead of the January window, has struggled to break into the side at Brighton under manager Graham Potter.

He has started just four matches in all competitions this term, with eight of his 12 appearances coming as a substitute.

Murray was on the bench again for Brighton’s trip to Bournemouth on Tuesday and even though the Seagulls were 3-0 down going into the final 15 minutes of the clash which ended 3-1, Potter opted against bringing the forward on.

The Athletic reports an exit is now likely for the former Crystal Palace frontman, who scored 23 goals in his last season in the second tier to fire Brighton to promotion in 2017.

Murray is out of contract in the summer and it has previously been reported he would be allowed to leave the Amex Stadium on a free transfer before the month is out.
