Nottingham Forest lead transfer interest for controversial Champions League striker - reports

Nottingham Forest are being linked with a summer move for Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne.

According to Turkish news outlet Fotospor, the Reds are one of number of clubs across England and France to express an interest in the Senegal international.

The report adds that Forest appear to be the most interested in signing the 28-year-old, who could be available for 6-8m euros this summer.

Diagne is currently on loan at Belgian side Club Brugge, having only signed for Galatasaray from Turkish club Kasimpasa in January last year.

The forward, who can play as a main striker or on the left wing, was linked with Norwich City last summer before moving to Belgium on loan last June.

So far this season, Diagne has made nine appearances for Brugge in all competitions, netting four goals which have all come in the Jupiler Pro League.

Diagne also featured in the Champions League for the Belgian club against Paris Saint-Germain in November, where he missed a penalty in a 1-0 defeat.

That penalty miss led to Diagne being fined and dropped by manager Phillipe Clement, after the striker took the spot kick himself instead of designated penalty taker Hans Vanaken.

Diagne has not played a competitive match for Brugge since the defeat in Paris more than four months ago.
