'Modern redesign' - The Nottingham Forest 2020/21 concept kits with Premier League touch

Nottingham Forest's season might be on hold but that won't stop the club pressing ahead with plans for next season's new kit.

It's that time of year when every club gets their fresh designs together, ready to unveil to the fans.

The Reds had been pushing for a place in the Premier League, sitting in fifth place, before football was suspended.

We do not know yet how or when this campaign will finish, or which division Sabri Lamouchi’s men will ply their trade in next year.

But when the 2020/21 season does get underway, how could Forest's new kit look?

The people at Request A Kit have come up with the following designs for how the home, away and third shirts might look.

“With Forest looking towards a return to the top-flight for the first time since the 1998-99 season, it felt only fitting that the potential designs for the club's return to the Premier League take inspiration from their iconic 90s' strips,” they said.

“The home shirt is a modern redesign of the much-loved 1994-95 shirt, in which Forest reached their highest Premier League finish of third.

“The design, like the original, features red shadow stripes on the upper chest, thick black panels on each side and a black and white polo collar.

“The away concept is a more subtle variation of the home template, in two-tone blue - a popular colour choice for Forest which includes the classic cobalt and teal change strip worn between 1993 and 1995.

“Like the home, it features patterned shadow stripes and thick side panels, both in lighter blue, with a matching polo collar.

“The third concept adopts the white, red and black colour scheme of popular Forest shirts of recent years, with a retro-inspired twist.

“The design is predominantly white with small red detailing, like most modern efforts, but also sports narrow vertical stripes made up of an abstract red and black speckled pattern.

“All designs feature the logos of technical sponsor Macron, main shirt sponsor Football Index and a Premier League sleeve badge, with Forest challenging at the top of the EFL Championship prior to the season’s suspension.”
