Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has set his sights on a January move for defender Nicolas Pallois, claim Sport Witness , but will face tough transfer negotiations to prise him away from his French club.
The Reds , marshaled by defensive partnership Michael Dawson and Joe Worrall, have conceded just 23 goals so far this season in the Championship , but that has not stopped Lamouchi from plotting a move to add another defender to his ranks.
Pallois joined Nantes in 2017 and has made 52 appearances for the club.
The 32-year-old counts Bordeaux, Niort, Laval and Valenciennes amongst his former clubs.
But the story, initially reported by French newspaper L'Equipe, claims that Lamouchi, who will be familiar with Pallois from his days managing in France, will have to splash the cash on the defender.
Pallois penned a new four-year-deal at the start of the season that will see him stay at Stade de la Beaujoire until 2023.
And Nantes are understood to have confirmed that they will not let him leave this January with the club more open to a summer approach.
