Nottingham Forest joined by two Championship rivals in race for Burnley forward - report

Bristol City are said to be interested in making a move for Burnley forward Matej Vydra.

According to the Bristol Post, Nottingham Forest are now battling with Bristol City and West Brom to land the former Derby man.

Nahki Wells is said to be number one on Bristol's shortlist, but they are eyeing the striker's Burnley teammate Vydra as an alternative.

Dynamo Moscow were also said to be interested in Vydra, but they have since turned attention elsewhere, opening the door for the three interested Championship clubs.

Vydra has only made six league appearances for Burnley this season, not starting any.

The Czech Republic international's lack of game time this season has seen him fall out of favour with his national side ahead of Euro 2020, something he is looking to reverse in the back-end of the domestic calendar.

According to the report, though, Burnley boss Sean Dyche doesn't want to sell both Vydra and Wells before Friday's 11pm deadline.

It goes on to say the Clarets will likely sell the one player who brings in the highest transfer fee.
