Nottingham Forest join Championship rivals in eyeing Brentford star with contract running out

Nottingham Forest have been credited with an interest in influential Brentford midfielder Emiliano Marcondes as he continues contract talks with the Bees.

The Dane has been a key player for Brentford over the past year, helping them to the play-off final in the second half of last season, while again featuring regularly for Thomas Frank’s side this term.

However, he has just six months remaining on his contract, and, according to the Daily Mail, that has piqued the interest of Forest as well as Championship rivals Norwich and QPR.

Marcondes is in talks over an extension, but if that falls through, other clubs will look to pounce and maybe snap him on a cut-price deal.

The attacking midfielder has 12 assists and two goals in 65 Championship appearances for Brentford, and Forest got a closer look of him when he played 89 minutes in the Reds’ 3-1 defeat to the west London side last weekend.

Marcondes, now 25, spent his career in his home nation before moving to the capital, even playing Champions League and Europa League football for Nordsjaelland.
