Nottingham Forest interested in Tottenham ace as Jose Mourinho agrees to loan

Nottingham Forest are involved in a battle to sign talented Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp, but face serious competition from Fulham for the teenager's signature.

The Evening Standard reports that boss Jose Mourinho is happy for the 19-year-old to leave the club on loan to get some first-team minutes after he signed a four-year deal at Spurs last week.

And  Forest are one of several clubs keen on the midfielder with Burnley, Southampton and Reading also said to be keen on the highly-rated teenager.

But Fulham though are reportedly front-runners in the pursuit of Skipp with Cottagers boss Scott Parker knowing the holding midfielder well during his time at Spurs a youth coach.

England under-21 ace Skipp is said to be prepared to drop down to the Championship in search of regular games after playing just 105 minutes of football this season and the City Ground is an option.

But the Standard reports that a deal at Fulham would be unlikely if the club fail to win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Mourinho rates the midfielder highly and recently said that he felt he could go on to be a future Spurs captain.

"He is one of these kids that I have no doubt will be an important player for Tottenham," he said.
