Nottingham Forest interested in signing Premier League striker on loan – reports

Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham on loan.

The 26-year-old has struggled for game time this season under Roy Hodgson, making just two substitute appearances in the Premier League and one Carabao Cup start.

Hodgson is prepared to let Wickham leave on loan, according to the Telegraph, with struggling Watford among those said to be looking at him.

The report also adds that Forest are “interested” in Wickham in a bid to boost their push for Premier League promotion in 2020.

Sabri Lamouchi has guided the Reds to fourth in the Championship table and may look to bolster his attacking options in the January window.

Wickham, who has also had loan spells at Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday, would provide competition and cover to Lewis Grabban.

Grabban has been the main man leading the line for Lamouchi this season, playing in all 18 League games so far this season. He has scored eight goals.

Summer signing Rafa Mir can also provide cover up top, but he is yet to score in 12 appearances in all competitions for Forest.
